Duties Of The County Clerk

The County Clerks Office is where documents are filed. These documents include deed books, deed of trust books, wills and associated estate documents. As well as, plat’s, liens, releases, County Commission minutes, and several other documents. The County Clerks Office is also responsible for the preparing and tracking of the county budget, probating estates, payroll, paying bills and also conducting elections and voter registration.

We offer the ability to search our court records online. These records can include plats, deeds, wills, lien's, estate documents and more. Subscription rates for this service are as follows.

Online Survey Books

Through this online program you can explore the history of survey books through hardy county. The system allows you to search by name and view images of historic survey's from Hardy County. This index and image project was mostly funded by a grant through the records management and preservation board, West Virginia archives and history.

Marriage License 
Click here to read a document outlining help and what you will need for a marriage license. New age laws were put into effect as of June 8, 2023. If you are under 16  years old you may not apply for a marriage application and you must have a social security number.
