The Clerks Office is where documents are filed; Deed Books, Deed of Trust Books, Wills and associated estate documents, Plat’s, Liens, Release’s, County Commission Minutes, and several other documents. The Clerks Office is also responsible for the tracking of the County Budget, Probating Estates and also conducting Elections and Voter Registration.

Saturday August 28th is a Special Primary Election for the purpose of nomination of political party candidates for the late United States Senator Robert C. Byrd; and the General Election for the same will be held concurrent with the November 2nd General Election.
***Early Voting has ended.
***Absentee's for this election are no longer available.
The Courthouse will be closed for business on Saturday Aug. 28th.

********General Election- Nov. 02nd 2010  NEWS*******  
We are now taking applications for Absentee Ballots for the General Election.
Early Voting will begin Oct. 13th thru Oct. 30th  Monday thru Friday 9am - 4pm (excluding lunch 12 - 1) and on Saturday Oct. 23rd and Satruday Oct. 30th from 9am - 5pm (excluding lunch 12-1)

SB 232 effective July 1, 2010: summary   This bill turns the delinquent land process, which includes the purchaser's requirements and redeemer's process, over to the State Auditors Office.  You can look at or download the bill from the Code link below.
Remember that payments for redemption must be by cashier check, money order, certified check or United States currency.
